Clinic Co-ordinator, SACT Suite

NHS AfC: Band 2

We are actively promoting flexible working options, helping you to manage a work / life balance

Job overview

Full Time SACT (Chemotherapy) Suite Clinic Co-ordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinic Co-ordinator to join our Admin Team on our busy SACT (Chemotherapy) Suite in the Osborne Building at LRI.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy team as a Clinic Co-ordinator.  You will work on our SACT Suite Reception Desk as well as in our busy Chemotherapy Outpatient Clinics. The role involves liaising directly with our patients and their relatives as well as the Consultant Oncologists, other doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists and admin staff, so experience in a customer service role along with excellent communication skills is essential in this role.  This is subject to Job Evaluation

Main duties of the job

This is a demanding and also rewarding role and it is essential that the successful candidate is able to work effectively as part of a team whilst prioritising and managing their workload. If you are a highly organised person, would love a challenge and like to keep busy then this is the job for you.  The job is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Previous experience of using computer systems will also be essential as the role will involve booking patients’ treatment appointments on our Chemotherapy system and outpatient appointments via the HISS Patient System. HISS experience would be an advantage but not essential as we will provide training for this.

Working for our organisation

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
