To work within the maternity service multi-disciplinary team.

Maintain effective communication with the Registered Midwife/Health Care Professional regarding issues relating to their assigned duties, promptly reporting areas of concern

Maintain healthy working relationships with the multi professional team, patients and users, bearing in mind that all information regarding patients must be kept confidential.

Contribute to the effectiveness of inter-agency working as appropriate.

Support patients and users in maintaining their identity and relationships.

Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times and information relating to patient /users and personnel is used only in connection with authorised duties.

Carry out designated clerical duties as delegated by the Sister / Charge Nurse, Registered Nurse or Health Care Professional.

Undertake only those duties and delegated tasks and treatments within own limitations, level of competence, skill and training.

Assist in the delivery of direct and indirect care within CMG, Trust, local and nationally agreed protocols and policies.

Assist with the collection of simple data for audit/research and other purposes as delegated by the Registered Nurse/Health Care Professional/Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Contribute to the management of risk through assessment processes to ensure that risks are reduced at all times to the lowest minimal levels.

Adheres to Trust policies, procedures and guidelines and promotes the compliance of others.

Assist with the maintenance of a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control policies procedures and best practice.

Assist and maintain safe and hazard free area of work.

Act in a professional manner and adhere to the UHL uniform policy.

Carry out duties consistent with individual patient / users wishes, maintaining privacy, dignity and recognising cultural diversity and needs.
