Trosolwg o'r swydd

This post is an exciting new opportunity for a midwife to lead and provide oversight of the maternity planned care pathway at University Hospitals of Leicester. This includes the Induction of Labour (IOL) and Elective Caesarean section (ELCS) pathways

At University Hospitals of Leicester, our perinatal services are undergoing an extensive improvement journey and working with all key stakeholders to develop sustainable improvements across the service. There is a particular focus on improving experience for women, birthing people and their families who have induction of labour or an elective caesarean section.

This post will provide a unique and significant opportunity for the successful applicant to develop in their operational and strategic midwifery leadership career supported by the Lead Midwife for Quality Improvement, Deputy Head of Midwifery and Labour Ward Lead Obstetrician.

The successful candidate will be actively involved in operationally leading the elective pathway ensuring the provision of a safe, effective, and evidence-based midwifery service for women and families.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
