NHS AfC: Band 3

We are actively promoting flexible working options, helping you to manage a work / life balance

Job overview

UHL Radiology is entering an exciting phase and welcomes HCA/RDA to come and share the next steps in the journey with us.

Key Facts

  • We treated over a million patients last year.
  • We are one of the largest Hospital Trusts in the country.
  • We hold BSIR quality improvement exemplar status.

UHL is currently re-configuring sites and services leading to Interventional Radiology setting up in new accommodation.

Imaging investigations and minimally invasive treatments are central to modern healthcare services and as a specialty are evolving and rapidly expanding.  The changing face of Interventional Radiology has enabled the treatment and cure of many diseases that once required the patient to undergo extensive surgical operations.

The IR HCA is an integral part of the MDT in providing care to patients who attend for diagnostic or therapeutic treatments. The unique and varied nature of the specialty means that there is always something new and interesting to learn. Due to the diversity of patients who attend for treatment, Radiology has the ability to care for a wide range of patients of all ages, from Emergency, Medical, Surgical and Oncology specialties.

Working for our organisation

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
