For all other Medical Workforce positions, the full-time entitlement commences from 27 days per annum.

Job overview
Neonatal Services at ULTH are provided at both Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. The Local Neonatal Unit at Lincoln has a cot capacity of 15, providing intensive, high dependency and special care to babies from both Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties. Transitional Care is also provided on the post-natal ward and staff within the service work on both NNU and Transitional Care in accordance with service needs. There is also an Outreach Community Service.

Main duties of the job
The Neonatal service within ULTH is continuing to develop and is part of the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Sister that holds a QIS qualification to work as part of the Neonatal Service.
The post is currently situated at Lincoln County Hospital but the successful candidate may be required to work at Pilgrim Hospital as required.
The Neonatal Service within ULTH is currently working towards Bliss and BFI Accreditation and work in close liaison with the Maternity Transformation Programme as part of the Better Births implementation.
Staff will be required to work on an internal rotation basis, including weekends and Bank Holidays and be flexible to meet the needs of the service.

Successful candidates will require an enhanced DBS certificate prior to commencement.

Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Pilgrim Hospital is situated in beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Essential criteria
- Current First Level Registered Nurse/RSCN or equivalent
- NMC registered
- Neonatal Intensive Care post registration qualification
- Evidence of recent professional development
- Hold current NLS provider certificate
- Evidence of a good command of written and spoken English
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of study at academic level 3
- Mentorship and preceptorship qualification.
- Assessor and Supervisor for students
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent experience in Neonatal nursing at Band 5
- Evidence of teaching in clinical practice
- Recent experience in providing intensive, high dependency and special care for babies in a neonatal unit
- Evidence of teaching & mentoring pre & post registration staff
- Committed to on-going professional development
- The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to question current practice
