Would you like the opportunity to work toward the level 3 Standards in Pharmacy and become a Pharmacy Technician?

 

If you have answered yes to any of these questions you may be interested in a 24 month training scheme, managed by the North School of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation, Health Education England in conjunction with the Trust.

 

The opportunity offers 24 months of comprehensive training in all aspects of pharmacy services on a rotational basis.

 

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will undertake a Pharmacy technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship whilst training in the workplace (NHS Hospital).  The training is undertaken via a combination of a virtual classroom and on the job experience. You will be expected to commit your personal time also to complete the assignments. The training allows the successful candidate to acquire the knowledge and skills required to successfully apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.

 

Candidates will need to be highly organised, have good interpersonal and communication skills, be a quick learner, be keen to get involved and be committed to the training programme. They also require the ability to cope with the discipline of studying whilst working as part of a team through the busy department.

 

To be eligible for consideration for a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician interview, you must meet all essential criteria and have:

 

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language, Maths and Two/Double Sciences.

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSEs – Level 4 (Grade C) or above to include Maths, English and 2 Sciences
  • Good standard of basic education
Desirable criteria
  • IT qualification e.g. ECDL
  • Level 2 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent

Experience
