Job overview

The post holder will play an essential role in supporting the Radiology team by facilitating education, training and practice development of the  Assistant Practitioners,  Imaging Assistants, and Radiographers.

The post holder will also organise and maintain the Mandatory Training and CPD requirements of Radiographers and Healthcare Assistants in the Radiology Department and will work closely with the Student Clinical Liaison team to ensure standardisation of training.

Main duties of the job

A vacancy has arisen for a Band 6 Radiographer to work with our team of Radiographers at Scunthorpe General Hospital, Goole District Hospital and the Community Diagnostic Centre (date to open to be confirmed).

We are a busy, friendly departments with dedicated teams of Radiographers and Consultant Radiologists, with a good working relationship with other modalities, clinicians and other service users.

We are actively committed to CPD  and encourage our Radiographers to widen their scope of practice. We have a comprehensive induction programme, directly linked to a competency-based structure. Our academic link is with Sheffield Hallam University ( and soon to be Hull University) from where we provide clinical placements across sites for student radiographers. 

In order to maintain a continuously high standard of patient care, maximum flexibility of our workforce is necessary and therefore staff will be expected to work across all  sites within the Trust if the service demands. Essential criteria
  • • DCR(R) or BSc
  • • Post Graduate CT, MRI or other Imaging Qualifications, or equivalent demonstrable level of specialist technical knowledge.
  • • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • • HCPC Registration

  • • Certificates

Occupational Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Minimum of 1 years post graduate experience
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience of advanced imaging techniques
  • • Cannulation skills – Trust approved, or Society of Radiographers accredited training.
  • • Driving License
