This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their skills working within Early Years in a small and supportive team.  We are looking for a self- motivated, friendly and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our established Children’s Therapy Team in North Lincolnshire.

 Your job will be to provide Speech and Language support and input to children within Early Years arena to those who are most vulnerable to provide early identification and support as well as enhanced training for the wider workforce. You will work closely with the Local Authority and team lead to develop and evaluate this new service as part of the “Communication Counts” agenda in our area. 

 

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for providing a early advice, support and intervention for children in the early years arena and who are most vulnerable. This may include CYP with a wide range of communication difficulties.
  •  To work within early years settings, homes and  clinic locations primarily.
  • To work with the Local Authority to develop, provide and co-deliver training  for the early years workforce as part of the area wide approach.
  • To assist the Operational Lead and Team leads in planning and developing the service.
  • To support, facilitate and empower families and other professionals in supporting needs of a child/ young person with communication difficulties across a range of settings.
  • To manage a defined caseload of more complex patients using advanced evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, including discharge.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree/ MSC in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
  • • Post graduate study in appropriate clinical areas e.g. MSc modules in Paediatrics
  • • Wide range of CPD activities, esp. related to specialist area

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post graduate experience in Speech and Language Therapy across a range of Paediatric clinical areas relevant to the post.
  • • Experience of working with at least one more complex clinical pathway (for example Speech Sound Disorders, DLD, Language Disorder, Autism, AAC)
  • • Experience of working with other professionals e.g., schools, pre-school settings
Desirable criteria
  • • Clinical experience as Autonomous practitioner for management of complex clinical paediatric clinical pathways relevant to the post
