Ward Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join ward 28 as the ward manager.

Ward 28 is a 18-bedded ward and two 4-bedded HOBS units that provides care for surgical patients following acute, complex surgeries or requiring treatment. Its multi-surgical specialties consist of general surgery, colorectal, urology.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills and have the enthusiasm and ability to drive and motivate the team to provide high quality patient care and experience. 

The Ward Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the clinical areas including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards.

The ward manager has overall responsibility for the clinical area

They will facilitate innovative and evidence based nursing/midwifery practice through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team and act as a credible and professional role model and encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally and achieve their maximum potential.

The ward manager will liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team and facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care. The ward manager will report directly to the matron.
