Job overview

  • To perform a wide range of non-invasive and invasive cardiology procedures and play a key role in all invasive technical procedures and investigations required by the Consultant Cardiologist.
  • To provide factual reports

Main duties of the job

·         Performing any necessary administrative work related technical duties.

·          Assist in pacemaker implantation and provide subsequent reprogramming,   troubleshooting and follow up clinics.

  • Perform ECG’s, Event recordings, Physiologist lead exercise testing, 24hr ECG ambulatory monitoring and BP monitoring and analysis/reporting without supervision,
  • To inform cardiology manager of any deficiencies in stock levels i.e. consumables.
  • General duties including preparation of results, general maintenance and daily calibration of equipment, adherence to Health & Safety Regulations
  • Able to take part in an on-call rota as and when required.
  • Basic Life Support and Fire Training are mandatory.
  • Participate in the Cardiology Department meetings.
  • The post holder will treat all patients with respect and understanding and do all within his/her power to ensure the comfort and happiness, as far as possible, of all patients attending the department or being seen on the wards.
