Main duties of the job
Trust Junior Clinical Fellows at ST1- 2 level is required by Barnet Hospital (Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust) for a fixed term of 12 months. This will be for cover in General Paediatrics and Neonatology. Previous experience in Paediatrics in UK is essential.

Barnet Hospital is part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and is a busy district general hospital in North London.
There are 24 paediatric consultants spread across Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital and Barnet & Enfield Community. Currently there are 16 ST4+ level posts and 16 ST1-3 level posts based at Barnet Hospital with an excellent culture for teaching and training. There is a busy Level 2 Neonatal Unit with 30 cots including the first UK Individualised care unit (ICR), an exciting and innovative part of our service providing individual rooms for mothers to stay together with their fully monitored babies. On the general side there is a 30 bedded general paediatric ward, a children’s outpatient unit, an assessment unit for ambulatory care and a busy A& E at Barnet. At Chase Farm there are excellent outpatient facilities.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
At Barnet Hospital there is a busy 30 bedded general Paediatric ward and a level 2 neo-natal intensive care unit. The Paediatric department is located in a new well-equipped building. The department has a well-established education programme. If required, the successful candidate would be offered support for their application into run-through training.

Essential criteria
- Registration with the General Medical Council
- MBBS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- APLS course
- MRCPH Part 1
- A qualification in Medical Education
Experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to demonstrate broad clinical skills in the management of all patients.
- 4 months experience in Paediatrics,
- Evidence of an interest in teaching
Desirable criteria
- Previous audit experience
- Previous publications
Skills and aptitudes
Essential criteria
- Awareness of principles of Risk Management
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of academic excellence e.g. BSc, prizes, distinctions etc
- Good understanding of the forces and drivers of influencing change in the NHS
