Job overview

  • The Liaison Nurse post within Safeguarding is a vital role within our team based at Epsom & St Helier Hospitals.
  • Working closely with the Safeguarding team, clinician's across the organisation and with our wider partnerships, this role ensures timely discussion/liaison to safeguard adults at risk and children. 
  • The role is patient facing and site based, working cross site as required.  You will be working collaboratively with a wide range of people and will need to be able to communicate effectively.
  • You will need to be aware of themes emerging locally and nationally relating to safeguarding, and bring a keen interest in sharing information via our training/teaching programmes. 

Main duties of the job

  • To identify adults at risk and children/Young People (including children of adults at risk) and support staff to be confident and competent with making appropriate referral/ information sharing to community services.
  • To form close working partnership with the safeguarding team, local statutory   Services and community practitioners.
  • To ensure information is shared with the appropriate services including Maternity, Health Visitors, School Nurses, CAMHS,IDVA’s, MARAC,  Social Workers, Children Looked After Team and out of area children.
  • Gain broad understanding and competence in safeguarding across the lifespan, providing key signposts to colleagues as needed.
  • Participate in Education and Training for clinical areas as delegated.
  • Once supervision trained, to be supported to deliver safeguarding supervision as delegated.
