Our Neonatal Care service is a leader in innovative practices, focusing on evidence based care and continuous quality improvement. We are seeking a passionate and detailed orientated neonatal nursing data coordinator to join our dynamic team contributing to the health and wellbeing of new-borns in our community. As an NNDC, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing patient care through collection, analysis and management of data related to neonatal nursing practices. Your expertise will not only support clinical staff but will also drive improvements in patient outcomes, operational efficiency and overall quality of care.
Main duties of the job
- Be the Lead and primary point of contact for all Neonatal Data requirements providing high quality data collection and some analysis of data for the Neonatal Department and Trust.
· Be primarily responsible for inputting and maintaining The Badgernet Database
· Be responsible for capture of all data related to the neonatal clinic activity
· Be responsible for data capture of Transitional care activity
· Be responsible for capture of all data related to the community out each service
· Assist the Neonatologist responsible for providing Newborn Life support Course with administrative duties relating to Course.
· Assist the Neonatologist and Neonatal Matron in generating the Neonatal Annual Report

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Clinical / operational responsibilities
Communication and Relationship Skills
· Liaising and working with the multi-disciplinary team within the Trust, with external organisations and with the general public.
· Must be able to respond to queries and requests for information in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.
· Maintenance and protection of patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
· Sharing information and providing feedback to the MDT when issues or concerns arise.
Quality
· Assist in achieving Patient Charter standards.
· Be competent and fluent with workings of the Badger Net Data capture data base, and other neonatal database systems and electronic patient records.
· Be familiar with Trust Approved bed state software, i.e. Cerner, Evolve, K2 and other electronic patient records, to ensure information entered on these systems are correct and up to date.
· Work with Neonatal medical and nursing team to develop and provide accurate and timely data collection.
· Ensuring the multi-disciplinary team complete all necessary documentation throughout the Neonatal Unit journey of the patient, from admission to discharge to ensure accurate data input onto the Badger Net Data base.
· Analyse and report on data and monitor the processing of data and information relating to Badger Net.
· Ensure patient data is recorded accurately and in a timely manner
· Develop and maintain data bases to help improve all aspects of quality and safety by assisting with ward audits.
· Actively supports and contributes to development of key performance indicators for the successful assessment of neonatal performance. Deliver against agreed objectives, achieving quality outcomes.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Data administration course or equivalent, or willingness to undertake
- Knowledge of the Neonatal Badger Net Data base
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience of working with Healthcare system databases preferably in a hospital setting.
Desirable criteria
- Work experience in a neonatal setting and awareness of neonatal data requirements
Skills and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Proficient computer skills particularly with Microsoft Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint, and other healthcare-related programmes/ software.
