Job overview

The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of Nuclear Medicine Physicians and Radiologists delivering the Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT and Radioisotope Therapy services within the Trust. It is expected that the candidate will have already received specialist training in Nuclear Medicine and will be encouraged to develop a specialist interest to complement those of colleagues.

Main duties of the job

This is a full-time post although candidates wishing to work part-time will also be considered. Applicant must be accredited in Nuclear Medicine and be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Specialist Register. The appointment is instance permanent Consultant position. Ideally, the post holder will be able to start as soon as possible.

Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians
  • If an applicant is UK trained, they must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), in Nuclear Medicine or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. If an applicant is non-UK trained, they will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
  • Full and specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview)
  • MBBS or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Expertise and experience in all aspects of Nuclear medicine and PET/CT to consultant level
  • Excellent track record in imaging research
  • Experience in Radioisotope Therapies
  • Experience presenting at MDT meetings
  • Experience conducting clinical audits
