Are you an experienced Health Visitor looking to step into a leadership role, managing safe corporate caseloads while supporting a specialist interest area? Croydon Health Services is looking for qualified and experienced Health Visitors eager to develop their leadership skills and shape the future of Public Health Nursing.

We offer 7 specialist areas aligned with the 6 High Impact Areas of the Healthy Child Programme. This unique model within London provides an exceptional opportunity to work at Band 7 level in Health Visiting while managing a caseload. You will lead initiatives across the borough, such as:

  • Team leadership and governance
  • Complex needs, SEND
  • Safeguarding children
  • Addressing inequalities, including homeless health
  • Practice education and facilitation
  • Infant feeding, healthy weight, and nutrition
  • Maternal mental health and perinatal-infant mental health

We are eager to hear from dynamic Band 7 leaders to further Croydon's innovative efforts.

Main duties of the job

Team leader/Specialist Interest Lead for teams of Champions

Croydon Health Visiting is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the borough's children, young people and families through a commissioned contract with London Borough of Croydon. The service is seeking strong and enthusiastic leaders to continue the service development and improvement through leadership and innovation.

If you have essential experience as a health visitor, have experience of managing change, if you are quality focused we want to hear from you.

The Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust. Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • SCPHN Qualification (Health Visitor)
  • Registered Nurse
  • At least 3 years experience as a health visitor
  • evidence of continuous professional development
  • Practice Supervisor/ Practice Assessor
Desirable criteria
  • educated to masters or willingness to work towards

Knowledge and Understanding

Essential criteria
  • Experience of implementing evidence based practice
  • Experience of line managing staff
  • Experience of managing service change
  • Experience of the delivery of Healthy Child Programme
  • Significant knowledge of safeguarding policy
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of commisioning and KPIs

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of the current priorities for health visiting
  • Experience of working with families regarding safeguarding
  • Experience of caseload management

Skills and Abilites

  • Ability to facilitate and lead team development
