Job overview

 

The post-holder will have managerial and clinical oversight of the Croydon Children's Hearing service.  The job will also involve working with children and young adults with complex needs.

 

Main duties of the job

Clinical Lead - Paediatric Audiology

Band 8A, Full Time - 37.50 hours per week , Permanent

This exciting role is working within a small friendly Paediatric Audiology team. The post is based at the Children's Crystal Development Centre.  A multidisciplinary team centre, including community paediatricians, children's ENT, children’s physiotherapy and occupational therapy, for children within the Croydon area.

The post holder will be involved in the behavioural assessment and rehabilitation plus monitoring of children of all ages.  The centre works towards best practice guidelines and IQIP standards. The service has recently had a UKAS readiness assessment and is working towards a full assessment. The post holder will have both managerial and clinical oversight of the service. 

We work closely with our partners within South West London and this includes engaging in reciprocal peer review arrangements and training. We have a Consultant Audiovestibular physician who performs the aetiological investigations on our caseload and have a close working relationship with the hearing support services in the borough. Currently the tertiary Paediatric Audiology service for Croydon is delivered by Guys and St Thomas' NHS Trust whom we work closely with to deliver the best care for our children and families.
