Continuous Improvement Delivery Manager

Band 8a, Full Time, Permanent

The Continuous Improvement Delivery Manager is responsible for designing, developing and implementing key transformation initiatives across the hospital. The role focuses on planning and executing projects that improve clinical services, enhance patient outcomes, and drive operational efficiencies. The post-holder will collaborate with clinical, operational, and corporate teams to ensure that transformation projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet the hospital's strategic objectives. The role requires effective analytical skills, knowledge of national best practice, use of improvement methodologies and the ability to lead the implementation of complex projects and programmes. The role will be pivotal in the delivery of strategic transformation projects and act as a key collaborator for several services

Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.

CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team.Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.

Education, qualifications and/or training

Essential criteria
  • Batchelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in transformation
Desirable criteria
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in delivering complex transformation projects within a healthcare or public sector environment
  • Significant experience in managing cross functional project teams and working with multidisciplinary stakeholders to achieve project goals
  • Experience in leading change management initiatives and supporting staff through the adoption of new ways of working
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within integrated Care Systems or equivalent
  • Experience with digital transformation tools in a healthcare setting

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understand the background and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this
  • able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information from a range of sources and present it in a clear and concise way
  • Able to take decisions on difficult and contentious issues where there may be a number of potential solutions / outcomes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan over the short, medium and long- term altering plans to fit with the rapidly changing environment
