Job overview

Barking & Dagenham has a number of exciting opportunities for Band 6 School Nurses. If you have a SCPHN qualification, as a School Nurse or Health Visitor with an interest in working with young people aged 5-19 we will like to hear from you.

We are looking to recruit motivated practitioners with initiative and drive who are keen to contribute to the further development of our service. We have redesigned our services to work in closer collaboration with Children Centre’s as well as other agencies to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children, young people and their families in our borough.

Main duties of the job

For newly qualified practitioners, we have a Preceptorship Programme in place to aid your development. We also offer a wide range of ‘in-house’ and other training opportunities for continuous professional development through our learning and development department as well as clinical supervision and mentorship.

You will need to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team. You need to have excellent communication skills and experience of working in partnership across organisational boundaries. You need to be willing to facilitate and support change in service delivery.
