Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Band 3 Cashier on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.  You must be highly motivated, reliable, and organised. The role is very customer focused and main duties will include being responsible for cash reimbursements to patients, service users and staff, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for the banking and related administration tasks.  Excellent Microsoft Office skills are essential.

The post holder will be based in Edgware, however must be willing to travel to our 3 main sites when required, therefore having a driving license and access to a car is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as the role involves dealing with people at different levels in a friendly manner that follows Trust values

Main duties of the job

1.    Maintenance of template on RiO for all in-patients admission & discharge and the sending of letters to the Department of Works and Pensions and other agencies for all in-patients within the Trust.

2.    Open mail, record all income received therewith. Post holder is required to redirect post as appropriate.

3.    Weekly banking at each site along with completion of Excel Spreadsheet.

4.    Identifying and dealing with patient’s uncollected cash and property.

5.    Collating paperwork from each site to be able to order re-imbursement of petty cash & patient monies.

6.    Order and take delivery of petty cash and patient monies reimbursement via Pivotal on a weekly basis.

7.    Payment of petty cash and patient monies to departments and service users, and the daily balancing of all floats.

8.    Assist in managing general enquiries from the patients and staff when necessary.

9.    Post both receipts and withdrawals made from / to patients onto the Trojan patient monies software package, ensuring that patient’s balances are checked before withdrawals are made. Input new patient’s details on Trojan. Weekly and monthly reconciliation’s of transactions

Essential criteria
  • 4 GCSEs Including English and Math
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Previous Experience

  • Experience of dealing with members of public both face to face and on the phone
  • Experience in working in a cashier / accounts administration office
  • Working with staff at all levels
