Deputy Ward Manager

Band 6

We have been working together in a Partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust for some time, with a single Chair and Chief Executive since 2021 and single Executive Team since 2022. We launched our North London Mental Health Partnership Strategy in May 2023 and in July 2023 our Boards agreed that coming together to create one new Trust is best for our service users, our staff and our local communities. Subject to final approvals, we will be formally established as one new Trust on 1 October 2024.

Job overview

We have an exciting role for a Band 6 RMN on our Older Adult Admission ward which is located on the Chase Farm Hospital Site in Enfield. Are you a dynamic, forward thinking Nurse, either in a junior management role or have the aptitude and skills to move into such a role? If the answer is yes to this then this could be the role for you. You must be able to demonstrate commitment and passion for older adult’s mental health care and have the drive and ambition to provide safe, quality and patient centred care to our service users, families and their carers. The post holder will work closely with and deputise for the ward manager in their absence. The post holder will be a senior member of the ward nursing team, working closely with your other Band 6 colleague and providing a strong clinical presence to the unit and provide leadership, support, teaching and supervision to other junior members of the team. Ward rotation will be a requirement of the post holder with the Older Adults inpatient service. An informal visit to the ward is strongly encouraged.
