We have an exciting opportunity for Band 6 Day Surgery Charge Nurse / Junior Sister to help us deliver our Trust Values whiles giving good care to the local community.

Chase Farm Hospital is seeking dynamic people to join our team in Day Surgery Unit.

Main duties of the job

Chase Farm Hospital is an exciting place to work, with dedicated elective surgery theatres including day surgery areas and recovery that supports 8 theatres, one of which is a Barn theatre complex. The Barn Theatre is a large room with 4 theatres with no dividing walls, this is the new design for ultra-clean theatres for elective orthopaedic procedures.

We are the North London Orthopaedic Centre / Hub which is exciting times for learning and developing skills in managing Orthopaedic patients.

Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, Oral Max Fax, ENT, General Surgery, Breast, Plastics, Ophthalmology and vascular.

Working for our organisation

Chase Farm Hospital is a fully elective and the most digitally advanced hospital site in the UK, supporting the GIRFT Initiative in the High Volume Low Complex procedures.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for motivated and dynamic people who can support our Day Surgery team whiles also developing your own skills to ensure progressive training is happening to help staff with promotions in the future.

Education & professional Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse/ODP
  • Recognised Post Graduate Theatre Course ENB176
Desirable criteria
  • Mentorship Course (e.g. ENB 998, D32 D33) or assessor course or demonstrated willingness to enrol

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in Orthopaedic scrub and circulating practice (at Band 5 or above)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in managing junior staff (HCA/ students) including appraisal, performance, absence, selection and recruitment
