Job overview

The Endoscopy Unit at Chase farm Hospital, Enfield, is a J.A.G accredited unit.

 JAG accreditation means that patients can have increased confidence in their endoscopy service and be assured of the same quality of care no matter where their endoscopy takes place, provided it is JAG accredited. For the service it means a sense of pride in being able to show that they offer a high quality and safe service. It also increases opportunities for investment, growth and development of services. Main duties of the job

The endoscopy nurse will be trained to admit, recover, and discharge the patient.

The endoscopy nurse will also be trained in skills to assist the endoscopists in the procedure rooms.

  • First Level Registration
  • Evidence of recent and ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Post qualification in relevant speciality
  • Recognized teaching or mentorship qualification or working towards

Experience

  • Post registration experience working in an acute hospital setting
  • Awareness of current professional nursing issues
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of infection control standards
  • Demonstrates understanding of the importance of audit/quality
