Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS for a skilled and experienced Band 8a CWP SSDL / CCAMHs Clinician to join the CCAMHS Team (Tier 2) in a full time, permanent contract 1.0 post.

We welcome applicants from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and this role is open to Clinical/Counselling Psychologist / Family Therapists/Nurse/Psychotherapist / CBT Therapists with BABCP accreditation with experience of delivering and supervising staff to deliver evidence-based low intensity and guided self-help interventions.

The team is a large and growing multidisciplinary team, offering a range of targeted, early interventions to children and young people age 0-18 who are experiencing mild-moderate mental health difficulties. The team is now expanding its provision of CBT.

The service is committed to broadening accessibility and initiatives are being implemented to support this, including through the use of innovative digital tools as well as through embedding clinicians in community settings and developing relationships in community organisations such as youth groups, faith groups as well as in children’s centres, family hubs and GP settings. There many opportunities for ongoing staff development and training.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join an established multi-disciplinary CAMHS which is responsible for providing Tier 2 mental health services within the borough. The post holder will work in Hammersmith and Fulham Community CAMHS Team with young people aged 0- 18 years.

This role will include the co-ordination and appropriate delegation of work and necessary staff support; leading on choosing appropriate cases, providing supervision and opportunities for the CWP’s to develop their skills and competence, as well as supporting the requirements trainees have for the course.

The post holder will lead on the development of this part of the service in conjunction with the CCAMHS team manager and clinical supervisor for this role.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate a high degree of competence in delivering and supervising evidence-based, low-intensity and guided self-help interventions in order to support the training the CWPs will receive to enable them to deliver, under close supervision, high quality, brief, focused and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties (low mood, anxiety and behavioural difficulties). These interventions may be offered either individually or through group work with young people/families.

We welcome applications from candidates who have experience supervising CWPs and have completed the relevant CYP-IAPT supervision training.
