Locum Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
8 PA post
6 month fixed term (from July 2024)
Based at Hampstead site and Queen Mary’s House
Main duties of the job
This is a 8 PA Locum Consultant split post with the flexibility to work between the Neuro-developmental team at the Royal Free CAMHS and the CAMHS Community Eating Disorder service at Queen Mary’s House in Hampstead.
This is a 6 month fixed term post from July 2024.
Working for our organisation
The post-holder will have the opportunity to provide psychiatric support and leadership to each of the two multidisciplinary teams. Each team has some experienced consultant colleagues with whom the post holder will work alongside.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holders will be part of the clinical leadership to both multidisciplinary teams and offer consultation to other professional and agencies. There will be extensive opportunities for the teaching of either trainees or other professionals within the Trust and NCL network . There will also be opportunities to facilitate the development of the teams and engage in audit and research.

Education & Professional Qualifications
Essential criteria
- On the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC) for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Registered with the GMC and within 6 months (at the scheduled time of the advisory appointments committee) of being accepted for the specialist register for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Fellowship / Membership of relevant Royal College of Psychiatry Section 12 approved / equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Level 3 child Protection training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent experience with CAMHS emergencies
- Demonstrable knowledge of the environment in which the service needs to be delivered
Desirable criteria
- Liaison experience and Eating Disorder
- Experience in Children’s Safeguarding

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
