Job overview

This is an exciting time to be working at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care to more than 1.6 million people a year through our three main hospitals: Barnet, Chase Farm and Royal Free. 

To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to a wide range of musculoskeletal inpatients and outpatients within the Trust.
This post consists of 6 monthly musculoskeletal rotations that include:

MSK outpatients, hand therapy, rehabilitation groups (lower limb, ESCAPE pain, total knee replacement) and long term conditions.

Rotations may change subject to service demands and following staff consultation
To assess and treat own caseload of patients as an autonomous and independent practitioner
for patients who may have acute, chronic and/or complex musculoskeletal presentation, and maintain appropriate treatment plans, records and statistics.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Band 6 MSK Physiotherapists to be part of the MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy service at the Royal Free Hospital site.  The successful candidate will be expected to work at a specialised level of practice in the treatment of MSK conditions, with the majority of referrals seen being referred via Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and GP referral. You will be supported by the whole team and have a Band 7 Physiotherapist supervisor.

The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. In particular you should have proven experience of working in an MSK setting. We work closely with Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners in a range of specialties, the Orthopaedic and Rheumatology teams, as well as the Hand therapy and Pelvic health teams. We deliver a variety of group based sessions. We are also supported by a dedicated therapies education team and an AHP research and development team.

  • Comprehensive post registration experience with experience in musculoskeletal services

  • Evidence of CPD in the form of a professional portfolio detailing post - graduate structured, supervised in -service training received/attended, reflective practice
