Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for identifying and recruiting patients, supporting the patient through the trial, performing study assessments and ensuring data is reported accurately and on time. You will work closely with a variety of healthcare professionals and teams so excellent communication skills are essential, as is attention to detail. You will work autonomously and manage your own workload but also as part of a team.

The successful candidate is required to be able to demonstrate the trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. Experience of working in clinical research and of the research nurse role is of a year is desirable.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
Desirable criteria
  • Completed/working towards teaching course
  • Completed/working towards degree in the speciality or related field
  • • Recognised research qualification.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in delivering evidence based practice
  • Significant post registration experience
  • Experience of formal/ informal teaching of patients and staff
  • Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
  • Experience of acting as a patient advocate
  • Experience of phlebotomy and cannulation
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical research experience of 1 year
  • • Early phase clinical trials nursing experience
  • Experience working as a preceptor/facilitator
