Job overview

Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Free are recruiting for a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+ equivalent) in Severe Asthma. The post-holder will join a large multi-disciplinary team and be expected to work with the team to provide comprehensive care to patients with severe asthma.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have a commitment to be available for 10 programmed activities each week.  These will include approximately 5 fixed programmed clinical activities each week including the severe Asthma MDM, severe and general asthma clinics.

Administrative duties will include supporting the New Patient assessment pathway, local database analysis and data entry for the national Registry, and activities supporting asthma research studies.

The post-holder will be expected to participate in local audits / service evaluations and research projects leading to presentation of Abstracts at national meetings with potential for contributing to research papers.

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCP or equivalent

  • SCE (speciality certificate examination)

  • Wide experience of general and respiratory medicine at SHO level.
Desirable criteria
  • Computer skills & IT literacy

  • Appropriate skills at this point of career. Special interest in severe asthma
  • Awareness of the importance and relevance of audit and evidence of recent participation.
  • Ongoing involvement with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in leading departmental/Trust-wide audits.
  • Teaching qualification.
