Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Full Time enthusiastic senior chief  cardiac physiologist to effectively lead the LNWUH Trust (NPH  and CMH)  physiology teams and positively contribute towards  the delivery of financial, quality, performance, productivity and workforce targets, local and national, as agreed through the business planning, appraisal and personal development processes

The post holder is expected to k with a high level of autonomy across the  specialized fields within echo to BSE standards, CRM and the catheter labs; be able to demonstrate continuous service development, provide specialist input to the clinical service delivery and actively contribute to the smooth running of quality service . To manage a team of cardiac physiologists in staff performance, attendance, personal development and their wellbeing,  ensuring all trust guidelines and policies  are adhered to. 

Main duties of the job

  • The post holders primary role will be manage the cardiac physiologist team at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals, in close partnership with Ealing Hospital and CDC
  • Advance clinical expertise across all areas of cardiology diagnostics, supporting the service with clinical interpretation and high-quality reporting.
  • Manage daily cardiac physiologist rota, delegate and allocate staff according to the service requirement and staff personal development.
  • Responsible for the cardiac physiologists performance, personal development, training and manage staff appraisals.
  • Develop a high-quality training and working with the educational lead to ensure education, training and development meets the professional body standards as well as the national school for healthcare science.
  • Work closely with the lead cardiac physiologist across LNW.

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 5 years extensive experience as a qualified Cardiac physiologist in all modalities of Cardiology
  • Experience in budget and performance management.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in implementing change

Skills, abilities and attributes

Essential criteria
  • Ability to flexibly and effectively lead a department on multiple sites.

Education/ qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc in clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • Immediate Life Support accreditation.
