An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a innovative lead nurse in emergency care to come and join the team at Northwick Park Hospital. This post is to provide clinical leadership, management, specialist support and expert advice within the field of emergency care for both adults and paediatrics.

We are looking for a senior nurse with a registered children nurse qualification or ideally a dual registered nurse with both children's and adult registered nursing qualifications. A proven track record of working within a paediatric emergency care setting  is essential. The post holder will need to demonstrate sound knowledge of patient care pathways particularly around paediatrics and young people.

The post holder will be expected to support both the adult and paediatric emergency departments with the day to day running of the whole department. You will work closely with the head of nursing, matron, clinical lead and general manager to ensure that high quality patient care is delivered to our adults, paediatrics and young people.

You will be responsible for leading and directing the development of new services and patient care pathways ensuring they match the needs of the patients and service. The ability to relationship build and network with the multi-disciplinary team is essential.

The post holder will be a recognised expert in the field of emergency care and act as a resource to both nursing, medical and other health care professional, as well as patients and relatives.

To lead the nursing team using expert knowledge and clinical skills to manage patients presenting with emergency care needs.

Ensure the delivery of high standards of practice and quality of care for patients.

Line manage both adult and paediatric nursing teams including supervision, recruitment, appraisals, sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance and performance monitoring.

Proactively lead in the development of the service taking  accountability for service improvements and relevant initiatives, prioritising professional development within the team and promoting evidence based practice.

Monitor and assesses clinical areas against CQC standards and key lines of activity, ensuring appropriate timely action if improvement is required.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement to negotiate, influence and develop effective partnerships to support transformation of pathways.

Financial management of budgets.

Act as the patients advocate, supporting them to participate in and influence decisions concerning their care.
