Job overview

The post holder’s responsibility will incorporate development and implementation of the delivery maintenance strategy for all estates assets ensuring full compliance, inclusive of undertaking root cause analysis for Estates services or other system issues; this will at times require prioritising tasks and competing demands.

Ensuring that all Electrical plant and equipment are serviced and maintained throughout the Trust Estate, including the major overhauls and replacement of assets. in accordance with Statutory and Trust requirements in a timely manner.

The role will also include responsibility for ensuring that the hospital has compliant value-for-money service contracts for all specialist Estates maintenance services working closely with colleagues at other Trust sites to standardise contracts where appropriate. 

Main duties of the job

To lead the Electrical operational service delivery team utilising a mix of Directly employed labour and specialist contractors to ensure the effective delivery of Statutory, mandatory and reactive maintenance in line with KPI's and ensuring that works comply with Health Service requirements, Statutory instruments, Health Technical Memorandum (HTMs) and Health Building Notes (HBNs).

Ensure that shutdowns for maintenance, refurbishment and new build projects are properly co-ordinated and managed across all maintenance areas and support other maintenance managers with similar activity.

Undertake Authorised Person duties relevant to core trade and or within capability and competence; ensure Operational Estates Officers and Team Leaders also undertake relevant AP duties as necessary or required.

Participate in the duty engineer on call rota as required
