7 x Senior Clinical Fellow OMFS - London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to recruit two Senior Clinical Fellows to take part in on-call commitments which is shared amongst the established senior clinical fellow team who cover nights and weekends on-calls as a fixed slot.
The Maxillofacial department at Northwick Park Hospital is the regional service that serves the whole of the North West London, West Hertfordshire and East Berkshire and covers Watford, Hillingdon, Mount Vernon, Wexham Park, Central Middlesex, West Middlesex and Ealing Hospitals and St Marys Major Trauma Centre.
The post-holders will form part of the first tier OMFS team who are supported by second and third on-calls who are all medically and dentally qualified.
These jobs are ideal and have historically created for those who want to pursue a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery and would like to be in contact with the specialty while doing their second degree.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, challenging and busy specialty. These permanent appointments are based mainly at Northwick Park Hospital for night and weekend on-calls. The posts are suitable for medically or dentally qualified colleagues who have an interest in OMFS and would like to keep in touch with OMFS patients while 
doing their second degree. A broad based knowledge and some OMFS experience in all aspects of OMFS is beneficial. The successful candidates will work as a member of the first tier of the OMFS team who are always supported by second and third on calls who are all medically and dentally qualified.

The job plan is a fixed rolling rota shared with other Clinical Fellows covering night and weekend on-calls

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Full Registration with GMC or full registration with GDC
  • Fellowship in Dental Surgery or Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery or equivalent OR Fellowship or membership of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Doing medicine or dentistry as a second degree

Knowledge & Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable evidence of specialist interest in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Broad based experience in general Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Desirable criteria
  • Data base skills

Registration

Essential criteria
  • Full registration with GMC and/or GDC
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate qualification eg MD PhD
