Job overview

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a full-time, qualified experienced Senior Specialist Occupational Health /  Infection Control (OH) Nurse Practitioner with a post registration specialist degree / masters to join the OH Service, primarily based at Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow. The department provides service to approximately 8,500 employees across the LNWUH NHS Trust and to external clients.

A Consultant Physician led service, the team comprises of two trainees OH Physicians, Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Manager, Specialist OH Nurses and OH practice nurses. Working with the administration team our main priority is to create a dynamic approach to maximise employee’s health, wellness at work and productivity.

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a crucial member of the Occupational Health Service (OHS). They will provide professional guidance, mentorship and direction to the OH team on matters related to infection control and prevention, safer sharps and Influenza/ COVID programme.

 Whilst the post holder may not be Occupational Health trained, we would want an individual who is willing to undertake Occupation Health activities with appropriate training and support

 

·       The post requires collaborative working with numerous services across the Trust including the ICP and the Health & Safety team

 

·       They will be the Lead Nurse dealing with outbreaks by providing post-exposure management liaising as well as the audit and governance of data

 

·       They will be the Lead Nurse for the Trust-wide annual Influenza and COVID vaccination programme, including the provision of training for peer vaccinators. They will provide regular reports to the Trust board and NHS England during the autumn/ winter months. They will be proactive in these annual campaigns, looking at initiatives to increase uptake
