Job overview

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our busy and expanding Elective Care team as a Team Supervisor.

This is a full time position (37.5 hours) offered on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will demonstrate leadership skills, coordinating the team’s workloads and supporting staff.

This Role involves liaising with Service Managers and administrators in the Trust from all disciplines to support excellent clinical service to the patients.

Applicants must therefore be well-organised, motivated individuals and possess excellent communication skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The RTT Validation team are responsible for ensuring that all data records relating to Referral to Treatment Times (RTT) for patients are accurate, up to date, and reflect national and local policies. This covers both admitted and non-admitted elective care and is used to support the trust to manage its critical access targets relating to 18 weeks.

To provide day-to-day line management for the RTT team including recruitment, appraisals and continuous professional development for all admin staff.

Support the Management team (RTT & Elective Care Manager and Service Manager) in delivering the Trust’s key performance targets through effective and flexible use of physical resources to minimise waste.

To liaise with the trust specialities, to facilitate improvements in quality of care using lessons learned from validation findings.

The post holder will have a good working knowledge of the Trust Access policy and the 18 week RTT National Standards.

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths & English, or equivalent qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Educated to degree level
  • Recognised management qualification

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in the National Health Service
  • Excellent understanding of RTT guidelines
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements
  • Planning and organising work to meet deadlines
Desirable criteria
  • Project management experience
  • Experience using Cerner Millennium

Skills, Abilities & Attributes

Essential criteria
  • High level use of: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively across a range of staff members and professions
  • Demonstrating use of initiative and an ability to prioritise effectively in the face of competing demands
