Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to work in our busy Pharmacy Stores on the Northwick Park site. You will be working within a team responsible for the receipt of medicines, unpacking and placing them in a robot or on shelves. 

You will have a friendly and approachable personality and be self-motivated with good communication & interpersonal skills. 

The department actively promotes development, education and training. To apply you will need to have good GCSEs or equivalent as you will be required to complete either the NVQ level 2 in pharmaceutical services or equivalent. You will be supported to do this.

Successful completion of an online English and Mathematics assessment is required before interview

The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is a major health care provider with over 900 beds and comprises Northwick Park and St Mark’s Hospital, Harrow, Ealing Hospital, Ealing and the Central Middlesex Hospital, Park Royal.   As well as offering a full range of general diagnostic and treatment services, the Trust also provides a number of highly specialist services.  St Mark’s Hospital is an internationally renowned tertiary referral centre for diseases of the bowel and also hosts the Intestinal Failure Centre. 

The pharmacy department offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services.

 

Main duties of the job

·         The post holder will be based in the Pharmacy Stores and will assist the Pharmacy Storekeeper and Drug distribution section

·         The post holder will rotate between stores and drug distribution

·         The post holder will assist in the goods-in processes from external suppliers and place stock in the robot or its appropriate location.

·         Provide a medicine top up service of stock items to wards and departments which includes checking medicines stock levels, expiry dates, ordering stock and filling Omnicell cabinets.

·         Packs and supply medicines to wards and departments.

·         Transports and delivers enteral feeds to the Dietetics Store

·         Conducts daily room and fridge temperature monitoring log for pharmacy stores to comply with Good Distribution Practise (GDP) legislation.

·         Assembly of stock required for Dispensary using scanning equipment.
