Psychological Therapist, Nurse or DBT Therapist

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

We are looking for an innovative, motivated and enthusiastic psychological therapist, nurse or DBT therapist to join our well established DBT hub, which operates across CNWL CAMHS services (Harrow, Brent, Kensington and Chelsea, Hillingdon and Westminster).  You will be working with young people in the borough of Hillingdon who have complex needs associated with complex trauma.  The young people you will be working with struggle with  emotional regulation, engage in risk-taking behaviours, recurrent self-harming and suicidal behaviours.

We are expanding the provision of DBT across the board for CNWL CAMHS.  This role will be trained in DBT in order to provide 2.5 days a week each in Hillingdon  as well as act as a core member of the Enhanced Treatment Team.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a virtual DBT team, which is expanding due to funding from the Provider Collaborative (CNWL/WLMHT).  Time in DBT is guaranteed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a real commitment and compassion for working with this client group and across a diverse population. Excellent psychological assessment and intervention skills are required, especially in the delivery of NICE recommended interventions. Experience in delivering evidence-based treatments for people with personality disorder is essential, and the successful applicant will also ideally have experience of working within specialist CAMHS services.
