An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Acute Adult Mental Health team at the Riverside Centre in Hillingdon. The role provides an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced OTs aspiring to develop into band 6.

We have experienced senior staff in each area who would supervise and support you and a robust preceptorship programme. Internal training is also offered. We have a great record of retaining staff and supporting our Band 5’s into Band 6 posts (which is why we have many of these vacancies).

To provide the multidisciplinary team (MDT) with an occupational therapy service; this will include individual and group work, assessment, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with the College of OT Code of Ethics.

To manage a caseload of service users; using evidence-based practice, and recovery principles and to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment.

To integrate evidence-based practice and skillful use of assessment interventions with personal recovery principles in order to improve the service users’ quality of life and to support them to do the things they want to do and live the life they want to lead. This will include the completion of functional assessments from which recommendations can determine further ongoing care and treatment to enable optimum functioning.

To apply a level of understanding of the effects of mental and/or physical health conditions; providing training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the service user’s social and physical environment. This will include undertaking assessments and making recommendations with regard to the provision of equipment/aids and adaptations.

To undertake the Preceptorship process as outlined by RCOT guidelines and CNWL Trust policy where applicable.
