Job overview

The department is looking for 1 Consultant Anaesthetist with a Specialist Interest in Chronic and Acute Pain to join 
our busy anaesthetic department. The successful candidate will hold the FRCA or equivalent and requires 
independent practice in both Chronic and Acute pain.
We particularly welcome applications from motivated individuals keen to invest in the development of our services 
and who will contribute to a positive departmental culture.
The anaesthetic department are known for working cohesively and supporting one another not only in the clinical 
setting but physically and emotionally too.

Working for our organisation

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Person specification

Essential

Essential criteria
  • GMC Registration - CCT in anaesthesia or equivalent or, if in training within 6 months of CCT
  • Fellow of faculty of pain medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPM RCA)
  • FRCA or Equivalent
  • Independent practice in acute and chronic pain
  • Experience as Specialist Trainee in a wide range of general anaesthesia including emergency and trauma anaesthesia.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in early management of complex regional pain syndromes
  • Higher training in regional anaesthesia.
