Post 1: Locum Consultant, full time: 10 PAs

Post 2: Locum Consultant, part time: 7 PAs

The postholders will be expected to provide support in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and/or Same Day Emergency Care, but the team are happy to consider other additional interests.

Both posts are based at Homerton Healthcare, in Hackney, East London, an exciting and challenging place with a diverse and richly multicultural population. We were rated as the first ‘Outstanding’ Emergency Department following CQC inspection, a rating that was repeated upon second inspection.

The posts offer ample opportunities for the individuals to contribute to their specific area of interest, which may include teaching, training and exam preparation, digital solutions, Sports and Exercise medicine, Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Simulation, Critical Care, Ultrasound, Safety and Governance including Quality Improvement, Trauma, Care of the Elderly Medicine, Observational medicine, and Same Day Emergency Care.

Main duties of the job

For main duties of the vacancies, please refer the attached Job Description and Person Specification for a details overview.

Working for our organisation

Homerton Healthcare is a Foundation Trust and teaching hospital in East London.  We are in the middle of Hackney – a diverse and interesting inner-city area.  The department has Trauma Unit status and sits within the North East London and Essex Trauma Network and was the designated hospital for the 2012 Olympic Games.

The Emergency Department has trainees (Senior and Core level) and non-training posts in Emergency Medicine as well as a Physician Associate, advanced care practitioners, GP and sports and exercise medicine trainees, and an array of boutique clinical fellows with varied interests in ultrasound, simulation, and medical education. We have an excellent record of supporting and developing those in and out of training programmes, all the way to becoming Consultants or through CESR entry to the specialist register.
