Job overview
The post holder will primarily work as part of the theatre administration team, assisting with the smooth and efficient running of reception. You would be required to work on the reception desk to meet and greet patients on attendance to the department, answer patient queries and act as the central point to receive incoming telephone calls. The role requires liaison with wards, surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre staff and booking staff as well as a number of hospital departments such as Estates, Radiography, Sterile Services and Portering. The post holder will generate theatre lists using the hospital administration system, Care Records Service (CRS), ensuring confidentiality of all patient information and provide accurate, timely information to assist clinicians and nursing staff. Other duties include recording details of private patient procedures, cancelled operations and monitoring stationery stock levels.
Main duties of the job
The ideal applicant will have experience of working with the public; at least 2 years’ experience in an administrative role, good communication and IT skills are essential. You must be able to provide first class customer service, be comfortable using Microsoft Office software and have experience of working in a healthcare setting.
We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and committed individual to join our team. This is a full-time post with 2 alternating week shift patterns of 07:45 – 16:00 and 09:45 to 18:00.
