Trosolwg o'r swydd
Clinical Associate Psychologists (CAPs) in the Mental Health and Wellness Teams have a varied role, consisting of 1:1 and group work with clients, as well as working as a part of the Multi-disciplinary team and doing community psychology work.
As part of the community psychology work, CAPs work alongside the Community Psychologists in the teams to build relationships with community organisations in the borough, with the aim collaborating with these organisations to develop community-based interventions. These interventions hope to combine the expertise of community organisations with psychological ways of working, in order to engage with members of the community who are underrepresented in psychology services, and for those who find mental health services hard to access.
Working within the MDT includes attending regular business and zoning meetings, contributing psychological knowledge within these spaces, doing joint work with MDT colleagues to provide joined up care to clients, and providing mentoring/learning spaces for support workers within the teams.

In terms of the 1:1 work, they conduct assessments and deliver formulation driven short-term interventions with clients under the team. These interventions tend to range from 8-12 sessions, utilising the transdiagnostic therapeutic interventions taught on the course, such as behavioural activation, graded exposure, stabilisation skills, and modules from Structured Clinical Management. Group work includes running of the Psychological Pathway Course; a 3 session workshop for all who have been referred for psychology, as well as managing emotions groups and trauma stabilisation groups.
