NELFT Waltham Forest is the place for you!
You will be working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the Waltham Forest Rehabilitation Service. The service aims to provide short term intensive rehabilitation for up to six weeks.

Main duties of the job
If you can:
- Provide a high standard therapy service to patients
- Support the multi-professional team in the implementation of therapy based treatment programmes
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Work flexibly over 7 days
Our focus is putting the patient in control of their health and wellbeing. The vision is for people to live well for longer leading more socially active independent lives, reducing admissions to hospital, and enabling access to treatment more quickly.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Rehabilitation Assistant who wants to use and develop their skills with adults and older people, in their own home
Working for our organisation
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436).
COVID-19 Vaccination
We continue to encourage all staff to ensure that they have been double vaccinated and received their booster. We recognise that taking the vaccine provides the best defence against COVID 19 for our patients, our staff and their families.

- NVQ level 2 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Other health or social care training/qualification relevant to the role
Experience
Essential criteria
- previous experience of working in health or social care
- previous experience of working in a rehab setting
- experience of working within a team
Desirable criteria
- awareness of physiotherapy and occupational therapy goals
- awareness of IT systems e.g. RIO
Skills
Essential criteria
- Demonstrates good written skills
- Competent with basic IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience using Microsoft packages

- Ability to provide person centered care

- Experience with providing therapy interventions
