Are you an Occupational Therapist passionate about ensuring patients receive high quality community based rehabilitation?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our vibrant Waltham Forest Community Rehabilitation Service. If you are an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 OT with a background in providing physical rehabilitation in culturally diverse communities, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will become an integral part of a friendly and dynamic multidisciplinary team. Our team includes OTs, Physios, apprentices, administrators, rehabilitation practitioners, and assistants, all working together to provide exceptional rehabilitation for residents of Waltham Forest who have experienced changes in their functional abilities due to illness or injury.

Main duties of the job

·       Deliver Exceptional Care: Provide high-quality occupational clinical expertise through comprehensive, clinically reasoned assessments. Develop personalised rehabilitation plans that are needs-led, in line with national guidelines, and achieve positive outcomes for users of service.

·       Organise and Prioritise: Manage and prioritise your own workload and assist in the day-to-day allocation of tasks, ensuring efficient workflow for yourself and your team.

·       Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the Band 7 Physiotherapist to ensure effective leadership and management of the Community Rehabilitation Service caseload, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

·       Leadership development: Deputise for the Community Rehabilitation Lead as needed, and delegate tasks appropriately to all staff members, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

·       Professional Curiosity: Maintain a high level of professional curiosity in your daily role, acting appropriately on any findings to enhance patient care and service delivery.

·       Flexible Work Schedule: Participate in a rota covering a 7-day working pattern, ensuring continuous and comprehensive care for our service users.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

 

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

 

High Cost Area Supplement – London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).y
