Paediatric Emergency Staff Nurse - Band 5
Band 5
Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.
The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.
Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.
Barts Health supports the Pregnancy Loss Pledge and commits to supporting their staff through the distress of miscarriage.
Job overview
An exciting position has arisen for a band 5 staff nurse to join our dynamic Paediatric Emergency Care services at the Royal London Hospital.
The Paediatric Emergency Department at the Royal London Hospital is one of the busiest in London treating in excess of 35000 children per year from a multi cultural community. It is situated in the historic East End of London and after your working day you can enjoy the atmosphere of Brick Lane or Shoreditch and Hoxton.
We have moved to a brand new purpose built hospital offering an improved environment for our patients and staff and giving the opportunity to develop new ways of working. We are one of four designated Major Trauma Centres for London. Our recent merger with Newham and Whipps Cross promises more opportunity to develop working practices and share best practice. We have close links with City University London and are committed to the professional growth and development of our staff.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic paediatric nurses to join our team who have some post registration experience in any setting. You will be an excellent communicator with both adults and children and have demonstrable competence in caring for unwell children and their families. You will also be required to work both nights and weekends.
In return we offer an opportunity to develop professionally within the team, supported by a practice development nurse and senior nurses you will be encouraged to expand your clinical, management and leadership skills.
Why not become part of a dynamic team delivering excellent patient care and take advantage of everything we have to offer?
