Job overview
An excellent developmental opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician to apply for this post. The post-holder will undertake a programme to develop and grow in the role and to gain the skills, knowledge, and ability to work as Senior Pharmacy Technician in both the in-patient dispensary and as a Medicines Management Technician Band 5.
We require an enthusiastic and self-motivated Pharmacy Technician with excellent communication skills to join our motivated forward thinking pharmacy department, which actively encourages training. You will work in an exceptionally friendly department delivering a customer focused service.
This is an ideal opportunity for a pharmacy technician who is keen to build on their patient services experience, as well as their management and team leading skills to help develop a patient focused service to meet the changing needs of the organisation.

To progress from Band 4 to 5 the candidate must successfully complete all duties as listed in the progression criteria. All training and support will be given to enable the successful candidate to progress from band 4 to Band 5. Expected time frame for Band 4 to 5 progression:
* Minimum 6 months
* Maximum 12 months
Main duties of the job
To rotate through several key areas within the pharmacy department, gaining the skills, confidence and knowledge to enable progression as part of a technician development programme.
The post holder will be part of a high performing team that is expected to demonstrate behaviours that promote the pharmacy department and Chelsea and Westminster PROUD values. This means that in undertaking this role the post holder is expected at all times to behave in a way that demonstrates commitment to the delivery of the service.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences & NVQ3, BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, or equivalent
- Registered as a Practicing Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable criteria
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) Qualification (or to be achieved within 12 months of commencement)
- Medicines Optimisation Programme (MOP)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Patient Counselling and Customer Care
- Dispensing experience
- Pharmacy labelling and stock control systems
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of service audits
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Ability to use WellSky stock control system
- Clinical Trial dispensing
