BAND 7 HIGH INTENSITY CBT THERAPIST

Full Time – 37.5 hours

Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated High Intensity CBT Therapist to join our dynamic and innovative service.

Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies has been providing a stepped care IAPT service since 2009 and consists of Psychologists, Counsellors, Relational therapists, High-Intensity CBT therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners offering evidence-based interventions at Steps 2 and 3.

We are part of East London NHS Foundation Trust which has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are committed to ensuring a healthy work life balance and a positive working environment.

We recognise the need for clinicians to feel well supported in their role and clinical development. The post holder will be part of a supportive team, with access to peer support, high quality supervision and CPD opportunities.

We are a proactive and forward looking service, with a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the diverse community where we are located and we particularly welcome applicants with fluency in Sylheti.

These vacancies are offered on a full time, permanent contract, with the expectation that all clinical staff work at least one late evening per week (i.e. finishing at 7pm).

Main duties of the job

Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies is an exceptional talking therapies service with excellent development opportunities. We are committed to the progression of our team members and our posts are formulated to allow for development of clinical expertise in chosen clinical areas. As well as offering a range of therapies, the service also runs as a training centre, therefore offering opportunities for supervision and training.

The post holder will be part of a very dynamic team and will work alongside PWPs as well as therapists trained in a range of therapies including systemic and couple therapies, EMDR, CBT psychodynamic and integrative therapies. We also have a dedicated team working with physical health related problems and long term conditions; this offers those who work with our team plenty of opportunities to enhance their job satisfaction by learning more about this area and developing skills in working with this population.

The post holder will provide high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in line with NICE guidance. We value training and qualifications in other high intensity therapies and will support those wishing to develop their careers by training in other recognised modalities. We also value experience or interest of delivering therapy in a group format.
