Job overview

North Central and North East London CAMHS Provider Collaborative is responsible for commissioning Adolescent Inpatient Care for children and young people under 18, across our local footprint.  

As we are developing our portfolio of services including services that provide an alternative to inpatient admission, we are looking to appoint an Associate Clinical Director for Eating Disorders / Disordered Eating for 1 day a week (2 PAs) fixed term to March 31st, 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our senior leadership team to drive forward our strategic vision to further develop our local eating disorder pathways across our footprint.

Please note this post is 1day a week (2PAs)

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist and / or Senior Clinician who is able to provide strategic leadership to develop the Collaborative's vision of a seamless pathway of eating disorder / disordered eating services across Community, Hospital at Home Services, General Adolescent inpatient Services through to Specialist Eating Disorder Inpatient Services. 

The successful candidate(s) will work alongside our Clinical and Medical Director and our Experts by Experience to refresh our Eating Disorder Strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient centered care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  1. Work with partners and stakeholders to build collaboration, support and identify opportunities for service improvement and transformation opportunities in relation to Eating Disorder Services
  2. To play an active role in the clinical redesign of ED services, ensuring effective clinician involvement and participation throughout the process, including the refresh of our Eating Disorder Strategy 
  3. Seek, share and drive opportunities in relation to Eating Disorders which improve service delivery and performance to the highest level possible thus contributing to the overall success of the NCEL Provider Collaborative.

Education

Essential criteria
  • • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • • Further professional qualification in the field of Eating Disorders / Disordered Eating
  • • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Consultant Psychiatrist with significant experience in the field of eating disorders
  • Significant senior experience in an NHS Trust, operating at Senior Management Level
  • Experience of leading service and/or transformational change

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Clinical expert, with extensive knowledge of contemporary clinical services and national policy in the field of Eating Disorders / Disordered Eating.
  • • Demonstrates effective partnership working with internal and external stakeholders
  • • Demonstrable track record of delivering evidenced based practice and utilizing research in practice.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills, together with excellent listening skills including facilitation
  • • Ability to operate effectively in clinical academic operational environment with multiple stakeholders
