Senior Rotational Occupational Therapist
East London NHS Foundation Trust is excited to expand their mixed skilled Trust wide rotation. We are looking for Occupational Therapists who are keen to gain clinical experience as a Band 6 within forward thinking and supportive therapy Services. You will be part of well led, dynamic and friendly teams consisting of multidisciplinary practitioners, who constantly strive for integrated working optimising patient care and team morale.
All teams works together to achieve both positive patient experience and outcomes. In all areas you will be able to access senior OT professional support and opportunities for clinical and professional training and development.
Working as an autonomous clinician and as an integral part of the Multidisciplinary team (MDT) you will be responsible for assessing patients, discussing patient agreed goals and expectations, deliver highly skilled treatments and provide education for patients and carers. You will also be responsible for ensuring safe and timely discharges for patients in each of the clinical areas.
Main duties of the job
Our ideal candidate will be qualified and state registered as an Occupational Therapist, clearly able to demonstrate a desire to actively participate in all aspects of the role.
They must be willing and able to work in all areas of the rotation.
The successful candidate must be an effective team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.
To hold a referral-based caseload.
Carrying out OT assessment and planning intervention with a focus on daily skills and engagement in meaningful activities.
Working closely with the wider therapy team and participating in the planning and delivery of the group programme.

Essential criteria
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
- State Registration
Desirable criteria
- Further training in relevant area
Previous experience
Essential criteria
- At least one year post qualification in clinical mental health setting
- and/or demonstrable experience highly related to the clinical field
- Experience of CPD and role development activities
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post qualification experience in Mental Health and/or Community Health setting
- Ability to initiate and follow through projects and demonstrate Leadership skills
- Assertive in clinical and managerial situations
- Excellent demonstrable written verbal and presentation skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of clinically supervising OT staff and students
- Experience in participating in research or audit
