Job overview

Thank you for showing an interest in this very exciting role within Homerton Healthcare. It really is a fantastic Trust – vibrant, enthusiastic, and skilled. Hackney is the 2nd most deprived Borough in London and the Homerton has always been totally committed to making the health of City and Hackney residents the very best it can be, a mission which is especially relevant with the current economic situation. As a Trust we manage both acute and community services and are also part of one of the best integrated care systems in the country.

Homerton Healthcare has worked closely with Primary Care, the voluntary sector and the Council to develop really high class integrated health and social care services. As you will know Homerton Healthcare is in the top quartile of trusts for performance and often the top in London. This is because people work so well together and the flow of patients across acute and community works really well.

Main duties of the job

The Divisional Operations Director for our Childrens and Community Services Division is a crucial role in the Trust. This Division has adult and children’s community services, in addition to acute paediatrics, with a brief to optimise out of hospital provision and service transformation in conjunction with local partners and stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who is committed to running outstanding services and reducing some of the unacceptable health inequalities that exist for the patients and communities we serve. We see this as a unique role where a person with strong experience of managing community services will not just be firefighting but will have time to be creative and have some fun!

With a new Chief Executive joining the Trust earlier this year, and a renewed executive and senior team, this is a really exciting time to join the Trust in such a crucial senior leadership role.

Working for our organisation

Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing and flourishing organisation serving the population of Hackney, East London, The City and beyond.

We are extremely proud of the fact that Homerton Hospital has recently attained the highest possible rating of "Outstanding" from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Our integrated Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community health services for its local population and a range of specialist services for a wider group of patients. In addition, the Trust manages services out of St Leonard's Hospital and the Mary Seacole Nursing Home.

Homerton aims to ensure equality and value diversity, and we are committed to inclusion for all of our staff.  This is reflected in our policies, procedures and People Plan.  All of our staff are expected to embody our Trust values at all times.

We are also committed, through our Fair Recruitment Standards, to ensuring all applicants are treated fairly.

Homerton has a proud tradition of supporting and developing its staff, including its well-regarded and valued nursing community, and all staff are able to take advantage of a great range of benefits.

Homerton is proud to have been included on the HSJ & Nursing Times Best Places to Work list.
