Work at the forefront of cardiac diagnostics, where you’ll handle a full spectrum of investigations, including ECGs for Inherited Cardiac conditions, 12 lead holters, conduction system pacing, electrophysiology procedures, complex devices. Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • As a specialist practitioner in Cardiac Physiology, to be able to perform a broad range of clinical-technical investigation procedures and/or interventions in the Cardiological field to a highly competent professional standard.
  • To possess advanced practitioner knowledge, skills and expertise in at least one specialist area within Cardiac Physiology, having a minimum 5 years postgraduate experience as a Cardiac Physiologist
  • To assist the Senior Principal Cardiac Physiologist and the Principal Cardiac Physiologists in managing the various sections of Cardiac Services to provide the routine Cardiac Physiology clinical-technical services, including out-of-hours services where relevant.
  • Cardiac Services is part of the Division of Surgery, Cancer and Cardiovascular Services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
  • Imperial College NHS Trust performs both invasive and non invasive diagnostic investigations. These include 5 catheter labs providing both local and tertiary referral coronary angiography, angioplasty & stenting, cardiac device implant and electrophysiology services.

Experience

  • Completion of the BSc in Clinical Physiology or 2 years post graduate experience in the field of Cardiology having obtained a BSc degree in a different specialty.
  • A high level of competence and experience in the techniques listed under ‘Skills & Abilities’

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

  • Being fully competent at ECG recording & interpretation, exercise ECG stress testing and ambulatory ECG monitoring
  • Developing competency and specialised knowledge, skills and experience in either Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory techniques or Implantable Device Management and follow-up
  • Ability to manage own workload, as well as that of others when required to
  • Ability to train other staff in the clinical-technical field(s) in which the post-holder is competent & experienced
