Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and highly motivated Band 3 Imaging assistants (full time position) to join the Ultrasound team at Hammersmith Hospital -Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will be required to supervise and support Band 2 Modality assistants, assist Sonographers and Radiologists to help deliver a high quality patient focused service. They should have good communication skills, be able to work as part of a team, with good listening skills and an ability to follow direction and protocol in a busy and ever changing working environment.

To deliver our service, this role requires a flexible approach to work with the possible addition of evening and weekend shifts to current contracted hours on a rotational basis.

 

Main duties of the job

  • To assist and support the professional staff within the Imaging Directorate maintaining a high standard of patient care by carrying out assigned tasks.
  • Provide an efficient and reliable system for throughput of patients ensuring the activity and needs of the unit are achieved.
  • Co-ordinate the imaging assistant team on a day to day basis
  • Assist with clerical needs of the unit.

  • GCSE or Equivalent in English

  • Experience in patient care
  • NVQ level 2 in healthcare related subject

Experience

  • Experience of working within an Imaging department or within a multidisciplinary team in a clinical capacity

  • Previous experience in a team leader role
